The Logistics Coordinator will manage the day-to-day administrative aspects of logistics at the Herington Plant, coordinate quarry block inventory, and maintain metrics to analyze data for assessing performance and implementing logistics improvements. This role involves working with ERP systems, ensuring operational efficiency, and collaborating with teams to meet company goals while adhering to safety standards. The employee will demonstrate a commitment to quality, teamwork, and adaptability in executing additional tasks as needed.

 

Job Duties

 • Greet clients and vendors upon arrival and direct them to the appropriate offices/locations.

 • Logistics Coordination

       o Manage Customer Arranged/Pick Up and US Stone Arranged Freight Requests from the US Stone Sales Team.

       o For US Stone Arranged Freight Requests, secure the most timely and cost-effective carrier. Provide feedback to the applicable sales team in the event of changes, delays, etc. 

       o Prepare pre-shipment paperwork/tasks in advance each day, which will result in the most efficient order/product pick-up.

       o Check-in drivers upon arrival at the plant. Coordinate with the loader and sales team for accurate billing.

       o Maintain up-to-date billing procedures and follow them promptly to ensure customer invoicing is accurate for products and/or orders shipped/picked up.

• Block Inventory Coordination 
       o Support the Yard Supervisor with maintaining block inventory at the Herington plant. 
       o Coordinate weekly quarry requests to the Herington plant with freight partner(s). 

• Maintain Orders List (legacy)/Dynamics Production Orders (future) for material moved between orders, from inventory and shipped/billed product. 
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements regarding logistics. 
• Understand how the Business Operations Team's work contributes to company-wide goals. 
• Collaborate with the Business Operations Manager (BOM) to better understand daily and weekly tasks. 
• Must adhere to all health and safety practices and procedures. 
• Must work to be an excellent teammate, exhibiting a willingness to help/train co-workers as needed. 
• Must work with pace and efficiency without sacrificing quality. 
• Carry out any additional duties as assigned by the Production Management Team (PMT). 

Minimum requirements 
• Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Must be able to lift up to 70 lb

• Must be willing and able to utilize (or learn to utilize) computer based and mechanical equipment in the workplace. 
• Must work well within a team environment. Must be reliable and self-motivated.
• Must be able to communicate effectively. The ability to speak both English and Spanish can help an employee advance in their profession.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be on time and ready to work each workday unless prior arrangements with management have been made.
